Obituary of Ralph M. McBrien

Ralph McBrien, 84, of Naples, Florida and Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan passed away on February 15, 2008. Ralph served his country as a pilot in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant-Commander. He retired from the Detroit (Michigan) Police Dept. as a Detective-Sergeant. Ralph also served many leadership positions at Peace Lutheran Church in Detroit. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Lillion. He is survived by his daughters Leslie (Gary) Miller, Erin (Chris) Beresford, Colleen (Jeff) Freeburg and grandchildren Christopher, Alexis, Garrett, Taylor, Colin, Claire, Evan, and Marina. He also leaves behind his sister Eleanor (Ken) MacNicol. His brothers Russ and Bill preceded him in death. Ralph was a kind and gentle soul who would do anything for anyone. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made to Lely Presbyterian Church, 110 St. Andrews Blvd, Naples, FL, 34113; or Peace Lutheran Church, 15760 E. Warren Avenue, Detroit, MI, 48224. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2008, 11:00 am at Lely Presbyterian Church.
