Obituary of Dolores Paskal

Dolores Paskal, 82, died of pancreatic cancer, on July 22. She is survived by her loving husband, Oscar, her caring daughter, Alison, and Alison's partner, Suzanne. She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers and their complete families in California and Oregon. Born in Montana, she grew up in northern California. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. After moving to Detroit in the 1950s, she earned a masters and a doctorate from Wayne State University. Before retirement, Dolores worked as a general education consultant for Wayne County ISD (now RESA). After retirement, she and Oscar traveled extensively. She was also active in planning projects for the Indian Village Men's Garden Club and editing their newsletter. She managed the care of the Indian Village Greenspace and also worked on installing the new gazebo in the IV Centennial Garden. She was also a member of the Indian Village Women's Garden Club.
