Mark and I were in the same high school youth group. I always considered him a special friend. Even then his smile would brighten your day. I feel fortunate to have been his friend.

The stories Sue- I call her Susan- shared with me and other coworkers about her life with Mark, their family, and often their friends, always revolved first, around our Savior and Christ, love, and then laughter. It is only through your stories and memories that I know what a loved and loving man Mark was, Susan. I thank you for sharing a bit of his light with me, and I pray that God will grant your breaking hearts peace in knowing that Mark is Home, and that you will see him again.

Mark played in the worship team at Woodside Bible church with my husband John. I always loved seeing him play and hearing Sue’s beautiful voice when she sang up on stage. You will be missed but I know we will see you again ❤️

Mark, Sue, Sarah and Logan have always had a special place in the hearts of our family. We remember good times and laughs together. I especially have fond memories of Mark as he and I were kayaking on Burt Lake while sharing special thoughts about our families and how we can be the kinds of husbands and fathers that God wants each of us to be. Mark will be missed but, never forgotten. I look forward to seeing him again one day. -Scott Green

Mark was such a gentle and humble man of God. Marti and I are so blessed by his friendship over the years and when I would see Mark he always asked how we were. Mark leaves a lasting memory always in our hearts of His love for the Lord and others, and he will be greatly missed here on earth. I’m so glad to be able to reunite one day with so many family and friends when our Savior returns. We love you Michael’s family and our heart hurt and grieve with you. Mark will never be forgotten! Love, Robin, Marti and the Mattia family

The admonition to not 'judge a book by its cover' is true most of the time, but there are exceptions. Mark's photo herein exactly reflects his spirit as I knew him. A kind man, nearly perpetual smile, and an inclination toward optimism and encouragement. May God comfort his family until their Heavenly reunion.
