Elizabeth Irene (Piskoti) Raju, DO, Age 37 Elizabeth was born in Adrian, Michigan on May 16, 1970 and passed away on September 22, 2007 in Detroit, Michigan. Left to cherish her memory are: parents, Charles and Irene Piskoti; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Pamela Piskoti; nieces, Cecilia and Kara Piskoti; uncle and aunt, James and Carol Piskoti; aunt and uncle, Velma and Alan McCardell; cousins, Kirk and Nancy McCardell, Alan and Terri McCardell, Jr.; Greg McCardell; Randy McCardell; Jill and Jeff Rowe; T. Alan Rowe, Mary Rowe and Steven Rowe; Special Friends, Sabrina Morrison and Mary MacDougall; and many, many other relatives, friends and colleagues. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Charles and Mary Piskoti of Flint, Michigan. 1988: Graduated from Grand Blanc High School with Honors. 1992: Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biology from the University of Michigan – Flint 1997: Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova-Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine 1997-1998: Traditional Rotating Internship at Atlantic City Medical Center; Atlantic City, New Jersey 1998-2001: Wayne State University School of Medicine/The Detroit Medical Center Certification of Completion of Emergency Medicine Residency; at Sinai Grace Hospital; Detroit, Michigan 2001-2005: ER Physician at Oakwood-Heritage Hospital in Taylor, Michigan 2002-2012: Declared a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine Elizabeth is a member of the NOVA Southeastern University Alumni Association. Certifications: American Medical Association, American Board of Emergency Medicine, American College of Emergency Physicians, Medical Toxicology Association and the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Association. Publications: Visual Diagnosis in Emergency Medicine: The Utility of Ultrasound in a Case of Pericardial Tamponade; Accepted for publication by The Journal of Emergency Medicine, February 2001. Honors and Scholarships: Named “Outstanding Teacher of the Month” by medical students rotating through Sinai-Grace ED: July 1999, February 2000, and April 2000. State of Florida Rural Medicine Scholarship, 1997. American College of Family Practioners Education and Research Foundation Scholarship, 1996. Dean’s List, NSU College of Osteopathic Medicine 1994 and 1995. Special Activities: Collier County/Marion E. Feather Health Center, Immokalee, Florida. February to April 1997. Rotated through Urgent Care, Family Practice, Pediatrics, and Women’s Health Departments in a medical clinic that primarily serves migrant workers and Native Americans. Research Experience: Hurley Medical Center, Flint, Michigan; autumn 1991 - Compiled various statistics of survival data for colon cancer patients treated at the medical center during a 30 year period.
