Robert Cornelious Jones, Jr. was born on December 12, 1928 in Montgomery, Alabama.  He was the second of twelve children born to the late Robert and Pauline Jones.

Robert graduated as his high school Salutatorian.  He was drafted into the United States Army serving during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge.

On May 22, 1951, Robert married the love of his life Leannette Baker and enjoyed 66 wonderful years of marriage before her death on June 11, 2017.  To this union six children were born

He moved to Michigan in 1953, where he was employed as a nurse by the Department of Mental Health. He retired from the State of Michigan after 27 years of service.  During this time, he received several awards in recognition of his outstanding work.

Motivated by his deep love for Jehovah and knowing that serving Jehovah would be the best way of life for him and his family, Robert dedicated his life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 7, 1975.  He devoted his life to teaching his children to develop a love for Jehovah and his standards in each of their hearts.  As a result, they are all serving Jehovah. He spent many hours in the ministry helping others and he had the privilege of serving as a ministerial servant and an elder.

Robert loved interacting with his children at family gatherings and traveling together.  When attending conventions, the entire family would be seen seated together.  In his spare time, he loved baking.  He was especially known for his homemade cakes and banana pudding.  He was very meticulous when it came to keeping things neat and clean.  His hobbies were listening to music, singing and drawing.  He was an avid reader and he especially enjoyed reading the Bible daily.

Robert was preceded in death by six of his siblings, Pauline Jenkins, Doris Dorsey, William Jones, Melvin Jones, Walter Jones and Edwin Roy Jones.

He is survived by his six children:  Antoinette Westry, Carolyn Coleman (Nathan), Deborah Washington (Dwayne), Robert C. Jones III (Lynne), Linda Hall (Victor) and Richard C. Jones (Lalla).
