Obituary of Randall Eugene Norman

Randall Eugene Norman

It is with truly broken hearts that we announce that our most dearly cherished and loved husband, father, and phenomenal Papa, Randy Norman, passed away unexpectedly in the early afternoon of May 6th, 2022 - a mere three weeks after we lost our brother and son, Shawn. He died of natural causes, and though we are sure that he passed peacefully, he is already sorely missed.

He was a beacon in the community and the most generous person you could know. He would gladly give you the shirt off of his back, even if he wasn’t wearing one. He took so much pride in his children and grandchildren, and would happily recount for you every story he could think of, regardless of how many times you had heard him tell it before. If you knew him, you were truly one of the lucky ones, and you knew it.

Randall Eugene Norman was born to Gaines and Pat Norman on August 8th, 1956 in Cleveland, OH. He moved to Michigan where he met the love of his life and created a beautiful home with his wife and four children. He took over Eli of Troy Menswear in 1995 and used his charitable spirit to sponsor sports teams, charity golf outings, Girl Scouts, the local police and emergency responders, and countless more. He fitted numerous grooms, prom dates, and varsity athletes throughout the years, and everyone who came through became one of the family.

He spent his working years with his wife, children, his granddaughter Riley, and golfing. He enjoyed spending his retirement mostly spoiling his granddaughters. He loved a good meal, a good beer, and a great story.

He is survived by his wife, Kim, his siblings, Pam, Kevin, and Kim, his children, Lyndsey, Kyle, and Samantha, his grandchildren, Riley, Jo, Delta, Mikailah, and Ellie, and by all who knew him, because once you did, you were family.

The family is planning to celebrate his life in a joint memorial alongside his son, Shawn, on Saturday, May 14th from 11-3pm at the pavilion in Raintree Park in Troy. His cremated remains will join Shawn’s at the family’s home in Troy.
