Obituary of Raymond S. Gonzalez, Jr.

Gonzalez, Raymond Jr. 66 of Center Line went home to be with the Lord on August 25, 2006. Beloved son of Josephine and Raymond Gonzalez, Sr. Dearest brother of Audrey Basham, Art (Joann) Gonzalez and Carol (David) Silage. He was loved by all of us, along with many of his nieces and nephews. At the age of 22, with his life full of promise, Ray contracted an illness that left him paralyzed. He has lived an amazing 44 years after that, but eventually died of complications due to his quadriplegia. For the last 44 years of his life, he was an inspiration to his family and most everyone he came in contact with. He never complained about his illness, he has always had something good to say and he was always happy in spite of what happened to him. He was an amazing person and his exemplary life was a spiritual lesson that touched each and every one of us. Ray was surrounded by a family that loved him and cared for him until the end of his life here on earth. Even though we miss him, we celebrate his new life in heaven, where he will be whole again in God’s loving arms. Donations may be made in memory of Raymond to In-House Hospice, 24293 Telegraph Road, Suite 102, Southfield, MI 48034.
