Obituary of Max Brill

Brill, Max, age 83, February 23, 2007, of Auburn Hills. Beloved husband of Mary. Dearest father of Eric (Cathy) Maki. Dear uncle of Peter Eiland. Brother-in-law of Edward Eiland, William (Pamela) Crawley, and Charles Crawley. He was preceded in death by his brother Stanley. Mr. Brill was Professor of Psychology emeritus, taught at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan for 31 years. He received his Ph.D, in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 1967 and came to Oakland University at that time. He taught among other courses: History and Systems; Motivation; Emotion; Learning Memory and Thinking and Behavior Modification. He was devoted to the works of B.F. Skinner and Behavior Analysis. Max was widely read and had interests in many endeavors including literature, art, poetry, theater, military history, science and chess. Max was a member of the American Psychological Society and the Association of Behavior Analysis. Max was an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who mentored countless students, many of his students have remained cherished, life-long friends. A remembrance celebration will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 3780 South Shimmons Circle, Auburn Hills, Michigan.
