William Lloyd Space, August 17, 1939 – January 26, 2025
William “Bill” Lloyd Space, 85, of Milford, Michigan.
Bill’s favorite childhood memories were spending summers at his parents’ cabins in
Paradise Michigan on Lake Superior. The Tahquamenon Falls area, and all the
National and State forests in Michigan were explored by Bill eagerly. He loved the
outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing were his favorites. What a Gift. He loved
the water and was extremely athletic. His high school years were filled with friends
and sports, even winning a pole-vaulting championship which went undefeated for
many years.
He met and married Cornelia “Connie Sr” and they soon became a family of five
with the arrival of Billy Carla and Connie Lynn. Many times, he would put the kids in
the car after school on a Friday and they would wake up in the camper with it
popped up in the woods with breakfast cooking on the campfire. Most every Sunday
spent with the family at Kensington Park enjoying nature. What a Gift. Connie Lynn
says that she had always felt unconditional love from him. He worked hard his whole
life as a Journeyman, Tool and Dye Maker. They were married for more than 15
years.
He met and married Gwen in May of 1980. The entire home was filled with
unconditional love. No one could tell a story like Bill. He enjoyed having the family
over and he could make you laugh until your face hurts. He loved to sing and was
musically gifted just like his father. He was also a talented photographer, recording
all the ages and stages of this grandchildren. He and Gwen loved their house on the
pond with multiple deer sightings. One of Bill’s many accomplishments were not
only to remain friends with his ex-wife Connie, who became friends also with Gwen,
but also, he became great friends with Gwen’s ex-husband Bob. It made things
easier for sure. A saying he would tell Connie Lynn, “Things are progressing
accordingly.”
Bill was preceeded in death by his parents, his brother Carl and sister Evelyn, his
beautiful daughter Carla and beloved Gwen. He is survived by his sister Deanna, His
children Billy and Connie Lynn, stepdaughters Kelli and Bobbi, eight grandchildren
and an ever-growing brood of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his cat
Pooh.
Bill will be remembered with much love for his humor, singing, cooking,
photographs, many, many stories and his unconditional love. He will be missed
dearly and there is so much more to say.
What a Gift.
