W. Ray Welch

W. Ray Welch, age 81, passed away at home on Saturday, August 02, 2008, early morning. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; three children, Gale Korn, Grant Welch, and Debbie Vercnocke; and nine grandchildren, Shauna, Ashley, Kylie, McKinlay, Jack, Garrett, Jonathon, Alyssa, and Richard. Ray joined the Navy at seventeen and served on an LST in Europe during WWII. His first career was in advertising while his second was in land development and residential building. He was a passionate flier and piloted his own aircraft. He and his wife frequently flew around the country visiting relatives and close friends. He loved and cared for his family and was loyal to his friends. He will be missed. No services will be held per Ray's request. Those wishing to honor his memory may donate to the American Cancer Society or the charity of their choice.
