Virginia Jean Stevenson

Virginia ‘Ginnie’ Jean Stevenson, of Clinton Township, Michigan, age 83, died on Friday, October 7, 2022. Ginnie was born in Detroit, Michigan, graduated from University of Michigan and lived the best part of her life in Clinton Township. Ginnie was widowed in 2016 by her loving spouse Hank. Virginia is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Matthew) Morrison, and Janet (William) Pikarski; five grandsons, Joseph, Christian, James, Benjamin, Nathan, and one granddaughter, Caitlin. She is also survived by one brother, James (Pat) Thompson.

If you ever read a story or thought about everything a mom/grandma should be, she was all of that and more. Our hearts are broken but even though we ache with the most unimaginable and almost unendurable sadness, we take comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace and reunited with our dad again.

Ginnie loved the outdoors. Some of our best memories are family camping trips . Ginnie loved bird watching and gardening. She also loved to sew. She made Halloween costumes throughout the years for her daughters and her grandkids. Ginnie lovingly sewed both of her daughters’ wedding dresses.

At her request, there will not be a viewing. Instead, she will be cremated and a memorial luncheon will be held on Saturday November 12, 2022. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Nature Conservancy or the Audubon Society.
