Thomas Joseph O'Keefe

Thomas Joseph O’Keefe, age 86, June 25, 2023.

Thomas, born January 18, 1937, came into this life at the advent of the Greatest Generation and grew to his maturity from the 1950’s well into the new century.

While, at times, irascible, (especially after a Wolverine loss) he was forever accommodating and his home was always open to all.

He was an exceptionally honest, and strong, union official and a remarkably competent grievance advocate.

He was proud of his Irish-German heritage, and he enjoyed his cats, his beer, his circle of friends, and lived as a die-hard “Meechigan” fan who relished experiencing the ups and downs of his beloved Wolverines every football Saturday. As an avid fan, he attended several Rose Bowl games and adventures to the school “down south”.

Tom could quote many a poetic verse at will and had a deep appreciation of the English language. He possessed a superior capacity for public speaking and offered many fitting, and memorable, tributes which many remember to this day.

Rest in peace, “Keefer”.

There will be a brief memorial service at 10:30 AM, on July 12, 2023, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 25800 W. 10 Mile Road, Southfield, Michigan 48033.
