Susan Nanette Jacques

October 18, 1950 — February 22, 2025

Susan Nanette Jacques, 74, of Warren and Lawrence, Michigan, passed away on February 22, 2025, with her family by her side.

Susan was born and raised in Highland Park, Michigan. She graduated from Highland Park High School and attended Highland Park Community College and Wayne State University, where she pursued her Arts degree. Susan spent six years in Fairfield, California, raising her family and came back to her home state of Michigan, where she could enjoy all that the Detroit Metropolitan Area had to offer.

Known as “Suz” to her friends, Susan was an identical twin affectionately called “Old baby,” with her twin Deborah being “New baby.” She was loving, selfless, an artist, a music lover, and passionate about people's rights. Susan was often found drawing, creating art for everyone she loved, and rarely missed a Detroit Jazz Festival. She spent her time between Lawrence and Warren, Michigan, and played a critical role in raising her firstborn grandchildren. She was a stay-at-home mom for about ten years and worked for William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, for 23 years.

Susan was the beloved daughter of Nelson and Ethel Jacques of Highland Park, Michigan. She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Kusanovich (Mark), Paulette Briley (Lynn), and Deborah Jacques (Doug Berry); her children, Bridgett (Luttenbacher) and Jeff Grisham, Adam and Emily Luttenbacher; her grandchildren, Arika Luttenbacher, Evan Luttenbacher, Olivia Luttenbacher, and Madelyn Luttenbacher; and her partner, John Szakal and his family.

While there will be no public service, her family will hold a private celebration of life. In her honor, please consider donating to the following charities:
