Obituary of Stan J. Garner, P.E.

Stan J. Garner, P.E., of Livonia, Age 91 February 20, 1927 - January 24, 2019

Stan was born and raised in Detroit. He graduated from Cass Technical High School and Wayne State University. He joined the Navy at age 17 to serve his country during WW II. His father had to grant him permission. He was very proud of his military service. Stan worked at Ford Motor Company for 34 years. He belonged to the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers. He was past president of the Rouge Valley/ Detroit Chapter. Beloved husband of Sylvia. Dearest father to Steve and Paul. Also survived by 2 nieces and a nephew.

Stan was a long-time member of St. Aidens Catholic Church. He was past president of St. Aidens Golf League and belonged to the Mens Club. He loved the St. Aidens choir. He was devoted to his Catholic faith. He loved to start his day by going to McDonalds to have breakfast with his "McDonald friends". Stan was a wonderful person. He was truly a member of the Greatest Generation.

A memorial service will be held at later date.
