Rose Mary Catherine Wallman (Iott) passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 11, 2009, after enduring a fifteen month battle with pancreatic cancer. Rose Mary Catherine Iott, was born in 1927 to Claude A. and Letha L. Iott. Rose Mary was married to Robert C. Wallman from July 4, 1947, until his death in 1986. They were lifetime residents of the Belleville community. Their home, Wallman Gardens, an organic vegetable farm with greenhouses, for over sixty years, sold produce at Eastern Market in Detroit, and were one of the original vendors at the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market. Rose Mary was blessed to have a very special friendship with Terry S. Williams, who also preceeded her in death. Rose Mary is survived by her four daughters, Diane Wilson, Geraldine Kemeter, Marlene Brockowski, and Darlene Strasburg; five grandchildren, Jeff Heikes, David Heikes, Jason Jablonski, Katie McLoughlin, and Brian McKowell, and five great-grandchildren with another due in July. Rose Mary was extremely active in the Lincoln Golden Ages Seniors as well as the Sumpter and Belleville senior centers. In July 2008, her family and friends joined Rose Mary in her "Celebration of Life" party. Her hobbies and passions included lifetime friendships, fishing, crocheting, reading, hunting, and gardening. In accordance with her wishes, Rose Mary was cremated. A Funeral Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Whittaker Rd. Augusta Twp. on Monday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. Please view and sign Rose Mary's online guest book.
