Ronald James Sayre Sr.

Ronald James Sayre, Sr. of Canton, Michigan passed away at the age of 88 on October 25, 2024.

Beloved husband of Karlene (Kady) for 62 years.  Loving father of Ronald Jr. (Vicki), Amy Lee (John), and Eric (Ann).  Dearest grandfather of Krystyn (Michael), Matthew (Kelli), Ronald (Lluvia), Rachel (Michael), Hope (Matthew), Evan, Cullen and Addison and great-grandfather to Quentin.

Ron was born in Detroit, Michigan to Calvin and Alta (nee Blasius) Sayre.  He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Robert Nicholas, and sister Ellen.

Ron served his country in the Air Force and later became a firefighter for the city of Detroit. Ron retired in 1999 from Severstal Steel as a Senior Safety Engineer but continued to work part-time for many years.  He was still working at Duke Hardware in Dearborn until early 2024.  He loved old cars, woodworking, and was a history buff as well as an avid reader.  Ron will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
