Obituary of Ronald William Lecki

Ronald W. Lecki, 74, of Swartz Creek, MI, died on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 10, 1949 in Flint, Michigan to the late V. Walter and Ellen Leota (Hamer) Lecki. Ron met his dear wife Frannie in middle school at 13 years old. They spent 61 years together creating a beautiful family and life. Ron began his career at General Motors at 18 years old and worked there his entire life until his retirement after more than 45 years of service. He worked at several facilities in the Flint area, leading teams who loved and respected him. Ron maintained lifelong interests in music, cars, and the weather. Rarely was there a storm that was not observed by Ron from the front porch. Ron was a lifelong Detroit Lions and Michigan Wolverines fan and never missed an opportunity to point out bad officiating. He was a great and loving husband and father. Ron was a man of integrity and values who called things as he saw them. Ron also loved his pets, most especially his terrier Mollie. He will be greatly missed.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Walt and Leota, and his brother Ted. Ron is survived by his wife, Frances (McMillan); his sons Matthew (Jacqueline) and Mark (Mallory); granddaughters Kaylee (Sullivan) and Allissa; great-granddaughter Wren (Randall); and sister Patty (Kevin) Walker.

According to Ron’s wishes, there will be no public service. Donations in Ron’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org).
