Priscilla A. Gardner, age 73, born 8/28/1951 passed on 9/14/2024 after 10+ years of championing dialysis for kidney disease. Lifetime Lansing area resident. Graduated from Everett High School, 1969. Retired from MSU after 30+ years (small animal clinic and department of agriculture). Priscilla’s passion was breeding, showing and loving Shetland Sheepdogs, especially her own at Breakaway Kennel. Every Sheltie had a special place in her heart, from her first one Augie to her last one Blanket, and the countless dogs in between. She belonged to wonderful communities/organizations of Sheltie breeders for 50+ years (see below). Priscilla had great taste and gained much joy from quality, pretty and quirky things including artwork, jewelry, clothing, figurines, pottery, bottles, holiday decorations (especially Christmas), yard art, flowers, cookware and gadgets of all kinds. If it had a Sheltie on it even better.
Priscilla leaves her brother John (Mary) Gardner, nieces Dana Lewis (Daron and grandnephew Miles) and Helen Gardner (Sean Costello), dear cousins and childhood neighbors John (Arlene) Frye (Christopher, Alena and Bradley) and Marianna (Mike) Gotschall, beloved Shelties Blanket and Floyd, her compassionate longtime friends Pam Moore, Pat Gustafson, Terri Korthals and Julie Grandquist, and many others. Priscilla was preceded by, and now joins, her parents Ralph and Patricia (Frye) Gardner and close friend Eileen Salmond in heaven. A celebration of life will be held later. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Okemos Community Food Pantry, 4734 Okemos Rd, Okemos, MI 48864.
