Phyllis J. Zarend, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2020. She was a loving and supportive wife to the late Edwin F. Zarend. Active, fun-loving, dedicated mom, girl scout leader, band booster, and "social director" at the family cottage in Clare. MI. Later, she enjoyed spending the winters in Gold Canyon, AZ where she loved to study the Bible, swim, hike around her park with her walker, and play bingo. She was a lifelong jigsaw puzzle and gin rummy pro and an avid Detroit Red Wings fan.
Dear mother of Sandra (Wilfred) Wilson, Kathryn (Peter) Garney, Susan (Enrique) Medellin, Joyce (Ronald) Bryant, Ruth (Lawrence) Murphy, and Burton (Valerie) Zarend.
Loving grandmother of 13: Carol Glovak, Michael Wilson, John Majewski, Ed Wilson, Laura Roaden, Rick Medellin, Brad Medellin, Lindsay Bustos, Debra Davison, Timothy Murphy, Kate Klieber, Sarah Sollars, Dustin Zarend. Great Grandmother of 26 and great great grandmother of one.
The family will hold a memorial at a later date.
