Obituary of Philomina "Phyllis" Florine Rogers


It is with a heavy heart that we regret to inform you that Philomina “Phyllis” Florine Rogers (nee Talarico), passed away on January 31, 2021 in Pensacola, Florida at the age of 85. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Robert Rogers, their children; Robert (Mary), Duane, Annmarie (Dan) Farchone, and Frank (Shelley). She was the proud grandmother of 11 Grandchildren; Anthony, Rebecca, Lisa, Steven, Michael, Mary, Adam, Amy, Daniel, Emily, Josiah, and 10 Great Grandchildren, Hadley, Ava, Genevieve, Carter, Jacob, Tucker, Madison, Ethan, Evelyn and Judah. Phyllis is also survived by her two siblings, Emily (Richard) Daldine, Frank (Jeanne) Talarico and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was born on July 10, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Mary (Decina) Talarico.
She married Robert Rogers on June 6, 1953 and was married for 67 years. Phyllis and Bob were “Snowbirds” for over 25 years and owned a home both in Lexington, Michigan and in Gulf Shores, Alabama. During their 25 years they were very active in their clubhouse community and she had made many friends throughout her Gulf Shores community.

Phyllis loved playing cards, board games, dancing and loved having parties. Her most loved Holiday was celebrating the Fourth of July with her family and friends at her home in Lexington.

However, more than anything, Phyllis loved the Lord and passed her strong faith down through her family. She will be missed but never forgotten. She knew her Lord and Savior and always gave him all the praise and glory!
