Obituary of Peter Forrester Kuzniar


Peter Forrester Kuzniar, 48, died on May 12, 2020. He was born on July 27, 1971, to J. Lawrence and Diane Kuzniar. He was the youngest of seven. He is survived by Maureen Kuzniar Rosette (Phil), Doug Fogel (Suzanne), Judy Kuzniar, Michael Kuzniar, Larry Kuzniar (Kathryn Hester), and Amy Kuzniar (Charlie LeDuff). Peter was loved by his nieces and nephews; Jack, Ben,Todd, Lindsay, Olivia, Sam, Holden, John, Daniel, and Claudette. Preceded in death by J. Lawrence Kuzniar, Diane Kuzniar, Suzanne Kuzniar, Laura Robinson Kuzniar, and Phil Rosette.

Peter graduated from University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Earth Science. He attended University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy, where he excelled in academics, soccer, and lacrosse. He attended Gesu Catholic Elementary School.

He loved his family, his lifelong friends, and had the ability to always make new friends effortlessly with his humble nature. Peter was a loyal confidant who wouldnt expect much in return. He leaves behind countless friends who dearly loved his sense of humor and his genuinely kind and loving heart. His wit and intelligence was sharp and inventive. Peter was known for his independent spirit. He worked hard and he played hard. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman on the Great Lakes waterways. One of his dreams was to produce an urban fishing show. He was faithful to his hometown Detroit and was involved in many entertainment and recreation projects that showcased the talents of his city. Peter's passion and knowledge of the "Beautiful Game" was unrivaled. He was always willing to help his father and brothers during their coaching careers. He loved the game of golf and was always ready with his clubs in the back of his car.

Peter enjoyed many genres of musical talent. His love of music and travel often merged, notably with the Grateful Dead, that later led to the band Phish. This evolved into a fervent career in concert and outdoor festival management, for which he often traveled and made many wonderful friends along the way. He was a fierce animal lover and always had a dog in his life. His constant companion was a Pitbull. Pete is also survived by Maynard James, his loyal blue.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, there will be no public service at this time. We hope to have a celebration of Peters life in the near future.
