Maxine Burnell Metzen ("Mackie")

Maxine Burnell Metzen ("Mackie"), a lifelong resident of Grosse Pointe, died Wednesday, December 11, 2019. She was 99. She was born September 18, 1920 to Maxine Durant Burnell and L.D. Burnell. She was the mother of Dana Metzen, Christopher Metzen, Meredith Weller (John) and the late Edward "Burnie" Burnell Metzen. She was the grandmother of Randy Carne, Ryan Carne (Charlotte), Ashley Donahue (John), Marin Metzen and China Milligan (Ed). She was the great grandmother of Daniel Carne (Tess), Noah Donahue, Issac Donahue, Max Carne, Sarah Carne, Alleyna Milligan and Kylie Milligan. She is also survived by Valerie Carne (Steve).

She was a lifelong volunteer as a member of the Sigma Gamma Association, the Junior League, the Detroit Institute for Children and Meals on Wheels.

A private memorial service will be held in the spring.
