Nickrand, Matthew N., age 84, June 3, 2008. Loving husband of Donna (for 62 years). Adoring father of Cheryl Sudds and Deborah (Tom) Holston. Proud grandfather of Tracey Benoit and Robert Holston. Dear brother of Edna Leach. Nick proudly served the Hazel Park Police Department, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Sergeant-at-Arms for the Metropolitan Club, Spirit 64. Prior to joining the Hazel Park Police Force, he served in the U.S.Army, Field Artillery. In his spare time, and after retirement, he loved fishing and hunting. He also obtained his license as a Cessna Pilot.
