On Thursday, February 25, 2021, Mary Ann Melican passed away peacefully at the age of 97. Wife (widow) of Thomas Peter Melican. Survived by her three sons Peter, Daniel and Matthew and four grandchildren, Sean, Kate, Matthew and Maisie. Mary Ann was a University of Michigan graduate, with both a B.A. and a Masters Degree of Social Work,1951. Born Hart, MI, 4-14-1923 of Lester Mitteer and Dorothy France. Mary Ann resided in Grosse Pointe, Michigan since 1965. Mary Ann was Director of Social Services at the St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Home for Children and was also in private practice. She was a member of the American Association of University Women. She enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.
