Formerly of Birmingham, Michigan, she is survived by her nine children: Laurine (William) Cline, Mary (John) Jamieson, William, Jr., Timothy (Erin OConnell), Megan, A. She is predeceased by her husband, William, Sr., her parents Ambrose and Florence McDermott, brothers Richard and A. Edward, sisters Shirley Bailey and Susan Pickard. Born in Baldwinsville, NY she graduated from Oswego State College with her Teaching Certificate, married Bill in August 1952 and began her family in Saugerties, NY. In 1961, her husband accepted a position with Chrysler Corporation and they moved the family to Michigan. They maintained several residences as the family grew including an assignment that moved the family to Geneva, Switzerland. Eventually, they made their family home in Birmingham. Michigan. A loving wife, mother and friend to many, she enjoyed tending to her rose gardens, family gatherings, entertaining and of course, her manhattan cocktail. We wish to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Brookdale Assisted Living, Troy and her amazing Assurance Hospice staff for always being there during her final days. A celebration of her life is scheduled for later this year.
