Obituary of Joseph W. McInerney



Joseph “Joe” W. McInerney passed away at the age of 69 peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife and family on May 12th, 2023 after his battle with cancer.



Joe was a kindhearted soul that touched more lives than he would ever known. He had a kid at heart personality along with a contagious smile that brought joy to others.



Joe was born in Bay City, MI on “The first month, twenty-second day of 54”. He is preceded by his parents Joseph and Myrtle McInerney. Joe is survived by his loving wife Carol, beloved sister Micky, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.



Joe married the love of his life Carol September 24th, 1988. They resided in Bay City, where he worked on the family dairy farm, and at Meijer until he retired. He and his wife made a big move to Mt. Clemens four years ago where they have been enjoying the “City Life” and making cherished memories with family. Joe enjoyed bowling, bingo, and bird watching. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, and a die-hard fan of the Detroit Tigers.



A funeral mass will be held on June 3rd visitation start at 10:30 AM followed by 11:00 AM mass held at St. Peters Catholic Church, 95 Market St. Mt Clemens, MI 48043. A luncheon will be followed mass. The family welcomes you to wear casual Detroit Tiger attire for Joe if desired.
