Obituary of John David Taylor



John David Taylor (1952-2023)



John David Taylor, 71, of DeWitt, Michigan, died on October 29, 2023.



He was born in Tecumseh, Michigan to Betty & Albert Taylor. John graduated from Jackson High School in 1970 and proudly worked for General Motors until his retirement in 2004.



John was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Marilyn. John was also preceded in death by his mother in-law and father in-law Rex and Henrietta Ostrander, with whom he shared an especially close relationship. John is survived by his wife, Linda, His daughter Julie (Tommy) Cole, and his son Joshua (Dawn) Taylor. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cassidy Brown, Caleb Brown, Mikayla Taylor, Lexi Taylor, Stetson Cole and Dawson Cole; and his great grandchildren Isabella and Alex, Jr. John is also survived by four sisters and three brothers.



John was an avid Spartan fan, enjoyed NASCAR, but his foremost source of enjoyment was spending time with his family. They spent considerable time camping, hiking as well as motorcycling in Michigan in his earlier years. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling to Florida and out west with his wife and their friends. His greatest joy was watching his grandkids and now his great grand babies grow.



There will be a Celebration of Life at the Watt Community Center in Watertown Township, Wacousta, Michigan.
