Joann Helen Popp

Joann Popp, 89, of Chesterfield Township, passed away peacefully,October 2, 2022, while in Hospiceat StoryPoint Senior Living.She was born December 30, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan to the lateFrank and Elizabeth (Smith) Turkal, She was the third of five sisters. Joannwasa homemaker and worked in retail.She enjoyed spending time with her family,grandchildren and great grandchildren and, loved her morning activities. Predeceasedby her loving husband,Gene in2009, and survivedby three daughters, Linda Popp of Chesterfield, Carol (Shawn) Shortt of Chesterfield and Jean Ann (Michael) Yatros of Tampa, FL;5 grandchildren, Sean and Kristin Shortt and Alexandra, Christinaand Nicolette Yatros; 3 great-grandchildren, Jacob Haynes, Conner andKendall Shortt.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitudeto the wonderful staff at StoryPoint of Chesterfield and CorsoCareHospice. At Joannsrequest, there will beno funeral or memorialservice. Joannscremated remains will be placed along side her predeceased husband, Gene, atSt. Mary’s Cemetary columbarium,New Baltimore, MI.The family is grateful for the condolences, but declines flowers and donations.
