Janet Ellen Mackin

Janet Ellen (McNally) Mackin, age 79, of St. Clair Shores, MI passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Janet was born March 9, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan to Ava Marie (Goodrow) McNally and John Edward McNally.

Janet is survived by her daughter Pamela (John) Bordas and her son Michael (Stephanie) Mackin; her grandchildren Kyle (Illy) Howard, Ryan (Jena) Howard, Morgan Mackin, and Shaquille Harrison; her great-granddaughter Summer Howard, and numerous nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by Joseph Mackin, her son Andrew John Mackin, her parents Ava and John McNally, and her brothers and sisters Margaret Sheedy, Diane Brush, John McNally, Daniel McNally, and Kevin McNally, her nephews Timothy Heile and Jeffrey Mackin.

Janet was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of Hope. She volunteered at church and helped many friends and neighbors. Janet worked the voting polls during elections. She enjoyed ceramics, hockey, baseball, and tennis. Janet retired for ABN-Amro-Bank of America in 2008 after 18 years of service.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope, 28301 Little Mack, St. Clair Shores, on Monday, September 26, 2022, at 10:00 AM with visitation starting at 9:30 AM. A luncheon will be held immediately after the service at the VFW, 28404 E. Jefferson, St. Clair Shores.
