Age 102. Geraldine Marie was the sixth, and last surviving, of nine children born to Frank & Alice (Stoll) Gable. In her senior year of high school, she met Mark White, who became her husband until his death, 52 years later. Mark and Marie moved from Ann Arbor to Vista Grande Villa in Jackson in 1985, and Marie remained a resident there until her death.
Just before her 74th birthday, Marie married Emil Johnson. He passed away in 1998. Some years later, she met, and enjoyed the companionship of, Emery Jonas, her special "gentleman friend." Emery died in 2014.
At Vista Grande Villa, Marie agreed to learn to use the features of a new organ if the residence purchased it. Each party kept the bargain, and she played that organ for religious and social activities there for many years, stopping only when her eyesight would not allow her to continue.
Marie was raised in a devout Christian home, and was herself a follower of Jesus Christ. She had no children of her own, but is survived by many nieces and nephews who cherish her memory.
