Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Jones

Jones, Elizabeth Ann died on May 1, 2008, at the age of 87. Betty was born on August 12, 1920, in Fenton, MI to Charles and Hannah Olofson. She graduated from Michigan State College in 1942 with a degree in Physical Education. She went on to receive her teaching certificate in 1960 and worked as an elementary school teacher in the Lansing Public Schools until retirement in 1976. Betty was an avid and passionate golfer, engaging in league play until the age of 86. She was a proud and active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Howard J. Jones in 1992, and her 2 brothers, Carl and Ralph. She is survived by her children Robert (Mary) Jones, Karen Forkner, Ronald (Betty) Jones, and Michael (Alecia) Jones; grandchildren Lisa, Jenifer, Scott, Halla, and Maya; great-grandchildren Brandon, Joshua, and Avery and other relatives and friends. Betty was a very faithful mother and friend. Memorial services for Betty will include a light meal and will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 2-4 at Lake o' the Hills Klub Haus North, 5911 Bois Ile Drive, Haslett, MI.
