Obituary of Elaine Kay Christensen

Elaine K. Christensen of St. Clair Shores, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020, surrounded by her loving family and grand dog. Age 75.

Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Victor, and brother, Verne. Loving mother to her beloved children, Christine (Ryan) and Victor (Jennifer). Dear Grammie to her adoring grandson, Dante. Loving sister to her brother and sister-in-law, Chris "Lynn" (Philis).

She taught civics, history and social studies in the Grosse Pointe Public School System for 36 years. An educational activist, she believed in lifelong learning.

In addition to education, she enjoyed politics, world travel, gardening, music, stage plays, movies and golf. Her many travels brought her to every continent in the world.

Elaine had an indomitable spirit that has left an imprint on many and she will be greatly missed!

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
