Doris Helen (nee Nigg) Douthat 88 of Saline Michigan died peacefully at home on October 19, 2020. She was born September 4, 1932 to Leo and Helen Nigg in Guttenberg Iowa. She studied and became a Registered Nurse at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and rose to head nurse of Neurosurgery Post-Op there. She won the Mayo Outstanding Nurse Scholarship and used it to attend and graduate from St. Louis University with a BSN. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Dean Z. Douthat. They had four children, two of which, Daniel and Dorian, preceded her in death. She is also survived by two children, Denise Dibbs and Douglas Douthat; her brother Harold Nigg; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Service will be private.
