Obituary of Donald Mancia

Mr. Donald Mancia, age 86, of St. Clair Shores, MI, passed away July 2nd, 2020. He was born December 18, 1933, in Jessup, Pennsylvania. Son of the late Settimio and Rosa Mancia, Donald was the last surviving member of their family of seven children. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Christa.

Donald is survived by his four children: Rosemary DeClerk (Mike; deceased 2019), Daniel Mancia, Catherine Lloyd, and Connie Shea (Jack); ten grandchildren: Melissa, Josh, Angela, Tyler, Lauren, Zack, Eric, Riley, Molly, and Brian; and two great grandchildren: Grace and Samantha.

While proudly serving in the US Army during the Korean War, Donald was stationed in Germany where he met his beautiful wife Christa. They married in 1955 in Germany and spent 64 wonderful years together before her death in September of 2019. They are now happily reunited.

Donald was dependable and strived to provide for his family. He worked extremely hard and toiled in the tool and die industry for over 40 years. He took great pride in his garden and his Italian heritage, enjoying a bowl of pasta whenever possible. He loved to cheer on his two favorite teams the Detroit Lions and the Michigan Wolverines. He will be remembered for his thoughtful advice and generous heart and will forever be in our hearts.
