Derald D. McKinley (Mac), Age 90 of Plymouth passed away August 12, 2024.
Dearld, was born on February 18, 1934 to the late Arthur J. McKinley & Margaret Wright McKinley.
After graduating from Plymouth High School in 1952, he served in the US Army as a paratrooper where he was stationed in Fort Benning, GA.
He received his teaching degree from Eastern Michigan and started his teaching career in the Farmington School district in the early 1960’s for a few years and then taught for the Plymouth School District, the reminder of his career.
Mac enjoyed his 35 years of retirement between his homes in Ft Myers, Fla and Plymouth until his health made it difficult to travel.
He loved to hunt and fish and enjoy time with his family and grandchildren. He was always teaching them something. They all have their own memories they shared with him. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is proceeded in death by his eldest son, Gary Duane McKinley, his sister Donna Zimmerman and brother, Richard McKinley.
Left to Cherish the many memories he left behind are his children, Diane (Steve) Payne, Jay (Kim) McKinley, Marlene (Brian) Butzow, & daughter in law LeRhea McKinley, Wife of Gary. His 10 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, Sister, Dneyse Ebersole and his favorite great grand dog, Maizey.
Private Cremation Services were arranged by R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home. The Family will hold a private Memorial Service in his honor.
