Obituary of Colleen Lucas

Colleen Moore Lucas, age 62, of Dearborn MI died February 23, 2009, at home from natural causes. Born November 27, 1946 to Erna and Richard Moore of Dearborn. A 1965 graduate of Dearborn High, she married Frank Lucas on July 19, 1968. They welcomed a son, Nathaniel on September 29, 1977, who was truly the greatest joy of her life. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, bowling, camping, theater, scouting, fostering animals and time with her family. Organizations that Colleen gave selflessly of her time and talents to are: The Danish Sisterhood of America, Boy Scouts of America, Dearborn Heights Civic Theater, Dearborn Animal Shelter and she was an active member and Bell Choir Director of Cherry Hill Baptist Church. Colleen was a blessing and will be dearly missed by her surviving family members: Husband Frank Lucas, Son Nathaniel Lucas, Sister Karen Kraft, brother-in-law Jim Kraft, Brother Brian Moore, sister-in-law Susan Moore, sister-in-law Connie Gearns and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Cherry Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, April 4th at 12:00pm with a luncheon immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter (313) 943-2697.
