Obituary of Chester Kochanski

Chester "Chet" Peter Kochanski, age 90, of Clarkston, Michigan died peacefully July 11, 2009 at Beaumont Hospital, Troy, MI. Chet was born in Detroit, MI to Felix and Mary on January 9, 1919. He attended grade school and high school at St. Casmir in Detroit. He loyally and faithfully served his Country in World War II in the US Army in New Guinea and Europe, teaching Officer Candidate School at the time of his honorable discharge. After the war, Chet attended Wayne University, earning a BS in Liberal Arts. He worked in advertising sales and real estate after graduation. He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis, children Mark (Carmen), Allan (Denise), Jayne (Brad) Howard, Gwen (Doug) Philbin, and Sister Helen Dunne. Also survived by his grandchildren whom he loved so much, Sydney, Amanda, Peter, Nicholas, Daniel, and Sophie. He is predeceased in death by brother's Stanley and Aloysius, and sister's Mary and Loretta. Chet wished to be cremated, and his ashes will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. A Memorial Mass will celebrated at St. John Fisher Chapel, 3665 E. Walton Blvd, Auburn Hills, MI 48326, at 11:30AM July 21, 2009.
