OBITUARY OF CATHERINE (KATIE) ZECHAR

Catherine E. Zechar of Highland, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2023, at the age of 95.

Catherine was born on September 29, 1928, in Hamilton, Ohio to Lorin and Beulah Nemyer. She married the love of her life, Ernest (Ernie) Zechar on July 8th, 1944. Together for 62 years, they raised a loving family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, brother; John Nemyer, and grandson; Michael Zechar.

A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother; Catherine will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children: Michael (Linda) Zechar of Groveland, Florida, Daniel Zechar of Edgewater, Florida, Karen (Tom) Webster of Gaylord, Michigan, Karl (Jean) Zechar of White Lake, Michigan, Steven (Mary) Zechar of Commerce Twp, Michigan, John (Marcie) Zechar of Fenton, Michigan, and daughter-in-law Lynda Zechar of Waterford, Michigan. Catherine is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Barbara Nestor, and many nieces and nephews.

Catherine would encourage you to plant flowers everywhere and often. So, in lieu of sending flowers the family requests that donations be made in Catherine's name to Faith Lutheran Church Sunday School, 3501 E. Highland Rd, Highland, MI 48356.
