Carole Adele Abood

Carole Adele Abood passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Carole was a resident of Grosse Pointe Woods and Sterling Heights for many years, where she built a life full of love and laughter.

Carole was the devoted mother of Nicole Mburu (John) and the proud grandmother of Fendi Marie Foster and Marti Foster (Christopher Dusevic), who were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald, her brother Ronald Smith, her dear parents Marguerite and Harold Smith, and her cherished dog, Pretty.Carole will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and quick wit. She also had a special way with animals, lovingly known as her family’s “animal whisperer.” Her gentle wisdom and warmth touched everyone who knew her.She was a treasured sister-in-law to Elizabeth Abood (late Douglas), Sharon Abood (late Dennis), Esther Smith, the late Diana and Philip Russo, and Kenneth Sidlow (late Denise). Carole was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.Carole’s legacy of compassion, humor, and faith will live on in all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.Memorial arrangements will be shared with family and friends.
