Obituary of Bonita L. Castner

Castner, Bonita L. (nee Murphy) Age 70, passed away on March 11 at her residence in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Mrs. Castner was born in Shepherd, Michigan to Joseph and Velma (Dunn) Murphy. She married Oliver Castner in 1973 and lived with him in Harrison, Michigan until his death in 1999.

Loving mother of Judy (Felix) Malinowski of Grosse Pointe Woods, Donna (Jeffrey) Deters of Warren, Michigan and Thomas (Marcia) Schmidt of Hesperia, Michigan. Dear stepmother of Janice (Rodney) Smith of St. Johns, Michigan and Linda (Randy) Heckla of Harrison, Michigan. Sister of Bette Jones of Chicago, Illinois, William Murphy of Port Hope, Michigan, Dennis Page of Ithaca, Michigan and the late Robert Murphy who passed away in 1992. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great granchildren.

Bonita was a volunteer at Bon Secours Hospital and a member of the Services for Older Citizens in Grosse Pointe.

Her remains have been cremated and a memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Harrison. Memorial contributions may be made to Henry Ford Bon Secours Hospice.
