Barbara Jean Stec January 28, 1944 - November 20, 2024 Barbara Jean Stec, 80, of Warren, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Barbara was born on January 28, 1944 in Detroit, MI the daughter of John F. Stec and Jennie M. Stec, nee Najbaroski. Barbara was born and raised in Detroit, MI and moved to the city of Warren in 1976. Prior to retirement, Barbara worked as a lab technician for the American Red Cross for almost 30 years. Barbara was a beautiful earth angel who loved her family immensely. She devoted her life to creating memories and traditions that leaves her legacy with us forever. Barbara always shared her smile generously with everyone she encountered. She was a real lady, always presenting herself with grace, kindness, empathy, and respectfulness. Barbara was an amazing cook and fed anyone who walked through her door. She appreciated all types of music and loved to dance. Her happy place was spending time in the sun, either floating in the pool or having breakfast at the beach. Her love of flowers led to colorful displays around the yard and gardens of fairies inside. Barbara loved to play a fierce game of cards or dice and was always ready for a shopping trip. She was strong and resilient which helped her persevere through life’s obstacles, the biggest being her long battle with cancer. Although she’ll be missed, talk of her often, hold her close to your heart, and know that one day we will be with her again. She is survived by her spouse, Dale Stansberry; daughters, Patti (Blair) Lewis, Cindi (Kenny) Downs, and Cheryl Erpelding; stepsons, Adam (Carmen) Stansberry, Noah (Stephanie) Stansberry; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, John (Vera) Stec; sister, Mary Ann Whalen; and nieces, Anastasia (John) Burke, Rachel (Matt) Novello, Sarah Whalen and husband Jon Eiseman. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Sheila Jean Bishop (Hayes). According to Barbara’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Cremation will take place.
